On Brokeback's head gear
Finally overcame my hype-hate and rented
"Brokeback Mountain." I enjoyed it; it's a good flick.
But I also found it very mannered. Kept imagining director
Ang Lee yelling, "Keep your head down!" Over and over and over and over again. "Come'on! Show off that expensive hat! Chin down! More hat!"
And, "Pose against the car, lean back like that guy in the gay porn movie I made you watch!"
Now what does that say about its sensibility?
And BTQW, not as good a film as either
"Crash" or
"Capote. A better soundtrack, though.
